Cedar Nursery and After School Care are looking for a Part-time (Tuesday & Thursday) Childcare Practitioner to join our team in Lenzie. We are open from 7.30 am - 6.00pm and cater for children aged 2- 5 years in the nursery and our After School Care caters for P1 - P7 pupils from local primary schools. 

Successful candidates will have an SVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent in Early Years and Childcare, you must be registered with SSSC and be prepared to join the PVG scheme. A sound knowledge of Curricular documents including CfE, Pre Birth to Three, GIRFEC and Realising the Ambition, HGIOELCC and Child Protection Procedures would be required. 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities: 

• To be responsible for identifying the care, support and learning needs of our children and young people through working with parents and other professionals. 

• To ensure that you provide a well balanced curriculum that supports and inspires our children and families. 

• To ensure that children's records, care plans and journals are kept up to date and information is shared with parents. 

• Value themselves as growing professionals by taking responsibility for their professional learning and keeping abreast of the latest directives and current practices from various sources e.g. Learning and Teaching Scotland, Care Inspectorate and SSSC websites as well as other professional bodies or training facilities. 

• To show professional ability in all areas of work, being a committed team player, who supports and collaborates with colleagues to ensure that our provision is high quality. 

• Work alongside the management team to ensure that our Aims, Ethos and Vision is fulfilled. 

Job Type - Part time 2 days per week (Tues and Thurs) 

Salary - £11.00 p/h
