Are you an experienced Nursery Manager looking for a new opportunity in Early Years?
Wee Mack’s Nursery are seeking an adaptable, personable and responsive Manager who can provide a nurturing and engaging setting for our children, and a supportive and motivated environment for our staff. You will be a strong leader with a professional approach and a real commitment to making a difference to the children in our care.
Wee Mack’s has been open since August 2021 so we are still creating and developing our nursery. We require a Manager who can help drive our organisation forward and lead our business to success.
Duties will include;
Creating a safe and stimulating environment to promote learning
Updating parents and carers on children's progress
Working with the team and other professionals to ensure children's needs are met
Checking equipment is in good condition
Recruiting staff and developing the nursery team
Managing a budget and KPIs
Invoicing and managing funding
Keeping appropriate records
Creating management reports
Working within environmental, health and safety and fire regulations
Keeping up to date with changes in legislation
Building relationships with parents and carers
Making sure the nursery meets the National Standard for Early Learning and Childcare providers
Essential experience and qualifications:
a minimum of 2 years management experience in a similar role within an Early Years setting
knowledge and experience of staff recruitment and retention, payroll and supporting staff development
an understanding of learning through play and the current guidance, in particular Realising the Ambition, Curriculum for Excellence – Early Level, Funding Follows the Child and the National Standard for Early Learning and Childcare providers
competency in written and spoken English
basic computer literacy and IT skills
a BA in Childhood Practice, or other relevant childcare qualification equivalent to SCQF level 9
SSSC Registration at Manager Level
PVG Membership
Previous experience in Care Inspections
Extensive knowledge of Safeguarding, Health & Safety and implementation of policies and procedures
Desirable qualities:
flexible, self-driven and motivated approach
proactive with the ability to take initiative and make decisions
an excellent problem solver with a can-do attitude
able to lead self-evaluation in the nursery and develop and lead improvement
patient, calm and resilient in stressful situations
basic accounting skills and knowledge of managing finances and budgets
comfortable when working in partnership with parents and other professionals
skilled in increasing and managing occupancy within the nursery
Hours and benefits:
Salary range £29000 - £40000
38 hours per week, Monday - Friday (occasional weekend or evening work for events, training or marketing purposes may be required)
